Passing the Torch

Over the years in Kibaale, we have been working towards passing on the leadership responsibilities of the schools to the Ugandan teachers and administrators.  A big step in this direction was taken about a year ago when we formed the Education Committee, comprised of all the administrators in each of the four schools.  Arleen chaired this committee and helped them to take on the decision making and policy development role that she had filled previously as the Director of Education in Kibaale.

Last week, Arleen ‘passed the torch’ to the committee as she handed the chair to Kizito Stephen (who had been serving as vice chairman).

Stephen has taught in Kibaale for many years and has shown himself to be a creative and capable teacher and administrator.  Please pray for him and the other members of the Education Committee who will lead the schools forward.  They are keen to see they schools continue to fulfill our mission statement: “To develop the whole child through Christ-centred education for a life of creative, passionate service to God and to the needy”.  Members of the committee include:
